City Wild filming taster

City Wild filming taster

We’ve started filming  and editing for City Wild and we’re posting some sequences to accompany our crowd funding campaign.

We accompanied the new Deer keeper Terry Moore and colleague Tom on their first day of fawning with a group of staff and students from University College Dublin. June and July are the months when the Fallow Deer fawns are born. For a few years now, the UCD team has been working with the Phoenix Park staff to tag and monitor all new-borns each year. They check their gender, weight, size and health carefully while wearing gloves so as not to leave their scent on the fawns so that their mothers will still be able to find them. Over 100 fawns are born each year in the Phoenix Park.

Camera on the video is by the project’s cameraman Andrey Andonov and also a student volunteered to have our small portable GoPro on her head when they discovered the first fawn of the season! Have a look here.
